Greg Mulholland MP, Councillor Ryk Downes and Martin Rivett of Leeds Metropolitan University are attempting in the Carnegie '126 Mile Challenge' to raise money for three local charities. This challenge is to complete two endurance feats within a month, one of running - a marathon (26 miles & 385 yards) and one of walking - the annual 'Hundred' 100 mile challenge walk (100 miles in 48 hours) organised by the Long Distance Walkers Association. The team will be attempting to complete the challenge in May 2009 by tackling the the Belfast City Marathon on Monday 4th May and the 'Wessex 100' on Saturday 23rd May - Monday 25th May. |
